The New Berlin Police & Fire Commission met Sept. 10, 2025, and voted 4-0 to ratify Fire Chief Mark Polzin’s recommendation to end the probationary period for Lieutenant Stephen Schweickhardt and make his appointment permanent effective immediately. The commission met in closed session under Wis. Stat. § 19.85(1)(c) for personnel matters and took no action on a separate personnel investigation before adjourning at 1:20 p.m.
