Underwood and Vice Chair Story) and noted Chair Deibert had an excused absence; staff from Tribal Affairs and the Juneau LIO were introduced.
The Alaska House Tribal Affairs Committee heard invited and public testimony on HB 384, which would add the word “tribal” to the definition of a victim counseling center to extend confidentiality protections to tribal government advocates, and introduced HB 307, a sponsor-led custody bill to require compensatory visitation when court-ordered time is lost due to unsubstantiated allegations. The committee voted to report HB 384 out of committee and held HB 307 for further consideration.
