West Richland City Council met July 16, 2024. The council heard a detailed Hanford cleanup update from Department of Energy manager Brian Vance, took public comment (notably a lengthy debate over a 2021 ban on fishing at Park at the Lakes), adopted several ordinances and resolutions (multifamily design standards, utility easement vacation for Benton REA, dissolving the board of adjustments, accessory building-size changes, a budget amendment) and approved extending employment-contract authority for senior staff and police commanders.
