The District of Columbia State Board of Education convened April 22, 2026, to hear recommendations from the High School Graduation Requirements Task Force, receive agency updates from the Office of the State Superintendent of Education and a large panel of community stakeholders, and take public testimony on proposed graduation changes (credits, endorsements, capstones), AI guidance, and related issues. The board adopted resolutions on special-education best practices and an attendance early-warning system and postponed two AI resolutions for further work.
