City manager Tommy Ludwig presented the proposed FY2025–26 budget and a range of tax-rate options; the council unanimously approved resolutions to publish a maximum tax rate of $0.7218 per $100 valuation for notification and set public hearings on the budget and tax rate. Council debated timing of merit/equity pay, public-safety staffing, and whether to continue one-time contributions to the Burleson Opportunity Fund.
