Longview City Council met April 23, 2026. The council heard a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program update including a $1.9 million older-adult home modification grant, recognized local partners (VeriBank, Greater Longview United Way) and approved the consent agenda, which included a ChlorKing chlorine-generation lease, a $108,658 CDBG Park Street contract and authorization to apply for a 2026 ASPCA grant. The council retired to executive session under Texas Government Code section 551.074 to discuss the city secretary position.
