At its April 27, 2026 meeting the New Albany‑Plain Local Schools Board accepted Superintendent Sawyers’s resignation, authorized an outside superintendent search, tabled adoption of the proposed extracurricular activities handbook after extensive debate over raising GPA eligibility standards, approved personnel renewals and two administrator hires, and received a treasurer’s report noting a $5 million timing variance in property tax collections.
