Chair (S1) called the meeting to order at the Ocean Shores Library, confirmed date and location, and conducted roll call: Commissioners Ward, Kern, Hill, Nonan, Vernon and Johnson were present; Commissioner Peterson was excused for a doctor appointment. Chair requested motions to excuse and to approve the agenda.
At its April 28, 2026 meeting at the Ocean Shores Library, the City of Ocean Shores Planning Commission discussed updates to public-restroom signage, proposed changes to parking requirements in OSMC Title 17 (including removing some hotel/transient parking minimums), a proposal to remove a single-vendor restriction for cannabis retail, public comment about lost bus-stop parking, and routine planning-staff reports on permitting, grants and emergency services staffing.
