At its May 5, 2026 meeting, the Jones County Board of Commissioners approved several zoning requests, voted to proceed with a proposed health-insurance renewal while directing staff to explore alternative funding and plan designs, and advanced an ordinance amendment that adjusts distance buffers for alcohol licenses. Commissioners also approved switching the county dental plan carrier to Aflac and authorized routine agreements and MOU items.
