Berkeley City Council convened a special virtual meeting to hear final reports from the National Institute for Criminal Justice Reform (NICJR) and the Reimagining Public Safety Task Force on proposals to redesign emergency dispatch and invest in community-based responses. Council directed staff to return with an implementation analysis for a follow-up meeting in April.
