City of Plantation City Council and CRA met April 29, 2026. Council heard an investment-portfolio briefing, issued multiple proclamations, reviewed CRA redevelopment acquisitions (including a controversial $650,000 purchase of 1040 S. State Road 7 that passed), received public comments (including objections to an Axon surveillance contract), approved several zoning/waiver items (Wawa EV chargers approved with landscaping conditions, Fort Lauderdale Country Club maintenance building waiver approved, Cairo Works parking waiver approved), and approved a resized West Sunrise Boulevard mixed‑use redevelopment with a 10% affordable housing commitment and an added townhome for ownership.
