The City of Monroe Common Council met to consider routine license and public-works approvals, hear the police and fire annual reports, deliberate an attempted override of the mayor’s veto on a fluoride ordinance (the override failed for lack of a two-thirds majority), and continue an appeal over doubled building-permit fees for a large commercial project to the next meeting for additional information.
