Medical Center asks state to boost funding to pursue NCI cancer designation and expand facilities

Monroe City Council appoints Kathy Stringham to fill 5th-precinct vacancy after three interviews

After interviews with three candidates, Monroe City Council voted by secret ballot to appoint Kathy Stringham to serve the remainder of the 5th-precinct term through Dec. 31. The clerk read a 3-2-1 split in council ballots, and the oath of office is scheduled for the council's next meeting.
