Planning commission seeks one-year moratorium on data centers as ordinance language is drafted
The Planning Commission has initiated a one-year moratorium on data-center development pending public hearings and draft ordinance language; if new rules are adopted sooner the moratorium will lift, officials said.

Planning staff told commissioners the Planning Commission voted unanimously to initiate a process to hold a public hearing and consider draft zoning ordinance language that would impose a temporary moratorium on data-center development in the county.
