Douglas County's Transportation & Infrastructure Committee approved a proposal to extend a 45 mph speed zone near Milchesky Road and the Amnicon River and forwarded an ordinance amendment to the County Board after reviewing traffic counts and accident history.

The Transportation & Infrastructure Committee voted Sept. 2 to approve extending a 45 mph speed zone on County Highway A near Milchesky Road and the Amnicon River and to forward an ordinance amendment to the County Board. The item, requested by the Town of Summit, was supported by discussion of traffic speed data, roadway curvature and recent accidents in the corridor. The motion was made by Steven Long and seconded by John Lohse.
