The Douglas County Employee Relations Committee voted on Sept. 9, 2026, to increase the county's meal reimbursement rates to the current U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) rates. Sarah Kendall proposed raising the amounts after a review of the county reimbursement policy, GSA and state rates, and practices in other counties; Melissa Jarzomski moved the measure and Brittney Barry seconded. The motion carried and Natasha Schmid said she will take the recommendation to the County Administrator for implementation steps.
