The director of Oregon’s Office of Rural Health told the board the state received a $197 million Rural Health Transformation Program award and described challenges getting funds moving to communities. Board members asked for clearer maps of patient‑facing pharmacies after staff acknowledged the current map may overcount licensed dispensing points.

Robert Domingue, director of the Oregon Office of Rural Health, spent the meeting’s morning session describing rural health patterns across Oregon and how the federal Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) funds are being used. He said Oregon was eligible for up to $200 million and received a $197,000,000 award that must be staged across multiple years and locally decided convenings. "We got a $197,000,000," Domingue said, explaining that the federal program required rapid program development and close CMS oversight.
