District presents integrated plan emphasizing data-driven interventions and early literacy

The district presented its required integrated plan that sets out how Student Investment Account (SIA), Equity and Inclusion (EIS), high school success and early literacy funds will be used this year. District administrator said the district has "been growing a data culture where we look at our student data three times a year to help create interventions for the kids that are not making progress."

The presentation listed specific investments funded by those buckets: a literacy specialist (Kim Harwood), additional ELD staff, a behavior specialist and a social worker, more CTE pathway courses, kindergarten transition supports, assessment systems and tuition reimbursement for special education and EL staff. The administrator noted the district met four-year graduation targets for focal populations (students with disabilities and English learners) but did not meet five‑year completion targets; specific percentages are in the board packet.

Board members were told the plan is largely stable year-to-year with small adjustments tied to whether targets were met. Staff emphasized the plan’s focus on improving outcomes for preschool through third grade, closing achievement gaps, and increasing stakeholder engagement. The district said it will continue to monitor progress mid‑year and deploy interventions if students begin to slip.
