The Tree Commission approved removal of a gumbo limbo tree at 3435 Riviera Drive after staff reported a condition value of about 20% and signs of disease and termite infestation. An arborist on the scene told commissioners the bottom of the trunk was ‘‘just a shell’’ and described the tree as a hazard: ‘‘I wouldn't wanna be in that house during a storm,’’ he said.
