Walton County approved an intergovernmental agreement to house 34 low‑risk female inmates from Fulton County as a temporary measure to address overcrowding. The sheriff's office explained that the inmates are booked in Fulton County, transported to Walton County for housing, and returned to Fulton County when appropriate; they will not be released into Walton County communities under the terms of the contract.
