Select Board backs off downtown paid parking pilot, considers marina pilot instead

The Select Board revisited a previously directed plan to explore a paid parking pilot and signaled that downtown paid parking is unlikely to proceed. Chair said he has "a significant change of heart for paid parking in the downtown area" after conversations with business owners and public feedback. Several board members and numerous local businesses urged caution about downtown paid parking, citing letters and hundreds of public comments opposed to the idea.
