OPSD: statewide planning update will run 2025–2027 and feed draft legislation to lawmakers

OPSD staff told the joint committees that the statewide planning act is undergoing a comprehensive update scheduled for 2025–2027 and that the work will conclude with a report and draft legislation to the legislature in 2027. Committee members asked whether the update will address all issue areas, including green infrastructure objectives; OPSD staff said the recommendations will be shared with the task force formed under Act 36 and that the 2027 report will include draft legislation for legislative consideration.
