District facilities staff told the operations committee that facilities maintenance generated 5,529 work orders in July and August and that nearly 2,000 remained in progress, lowering the completion rate to about 70.26% — below the district’s 80% benchmark. HVAC generated 709 work orders, with May River High School reporting the highest number. Facilities staff said they are better prepared for HVAC demand but that extreme heat and storms continue to strain older systems.
