Emery County commissioners voted Sept. 15 to send an emergency letter requesting USDA Emergency Watershed Protection assistance for flooding that occurred Aug. 29, 2026. Commissioner Jensen said USDA staff indicated there is a 60‑day window to submit the request and that county staff and NRCS already have documentation available to begin the process.
