The Vernon County Commission voted to enter a closed session under Missouri statute RSMo 610.021, Subparagraph (3), at 9:25 a.m. on July 15, 2026. Commissioner John Shorten moved to enter the session and Commissioner Cindy Thompson seconded; the minutes record that "all voted yes" to enter closed session.
