Pasco County planning staff proposed consolidating multiple suburban residential categories into a single SDR category and suggested a minimum density to promote infrastructure use and limit sprawl. "So the minimum because this is the main suburban future land use category, we would wanna see development optimized to a particular density," Nick Tarios Pietos told the commission as he outlined a proposed 2.8‑du/acre minimum to direct development toward utilities and existing transportation infrastructure.
