Council voted to form a multi‑jurisdictional technology committee intended to provide additional oversight of shared networks used by the city, county and law enforcement. Staff described the committee as requiring sign‑off by the city manager and the county judges for any changes to security parameters or to authorize new connections. "This committee consisting of the city manager for the city, the county judge for Elm County, and the Hartley County judge all have to sign off on this before any security measures can be changed," staff said.
