Commissioners approved a variance permitting Carl and Naomi Turner to reconstruct a 512 sq. ft. cabin with a 128 sq. ft. addition inside the Bluff Impact Zone on Crooked Lake, after staff described structural failure of the existing foundation and a design intended to preserve trees and roots. Staff said vegetation removal in the bluff is regulated and the applicant said the plan aims to preserve as many trees as possible while replacing the failing piles.
