Commission OKs Swenson garage setback variance on Little Hubert Lake

Crow Wing County staff recommended and the planning commission approved a variance permitting Greg and Shanna Swenson to build a 24x24 detached garage on Little Hubert Lake with a reduced road right‑of‑way setback. Staff noted the steep slope and limited buildable area and recommended a stormwater management plan and erosion controls. The board found the garage was sited in the only feasible location and voted to approve the variance with the standard four conditions: a land‑use permit, BMPs, a stormwater plan and an as‑built survey.
