Mayor Bodily brought a constituent request about changing the definition of a 'resident' for cemetery pricing to the Aug. 18 meeting and reviewed how Lewiston currently applies the state definition: a resident is someone who lives in the city and votes there. He said, based on his research, roughly half of municipalities use that voter/residency standard while others treat someone who owns property and pays taxes as eligible for resident pricing.
