Several residents told the council they are worried about proposed hyperscale data centers and want stricter review before any approvals. Monica Primo, of Featherstone in Monticello, said hyperscale facilities use “massive amounts of water and energy,” criticized what she described as secrecy about end users and alleged a possible link between "Monticello Tech's Project Groundhog" and Meta.
