The Maple Rapids council approved two local public-works contracts at the July 1 meeting. Council accepted a $6,245 bid from JC Electric to provide electrical work for the village pavilion, the ball field and the pump house. The motion to accept JC Electric's bid was made by Councilor Dave Esterline and supported by Amanda VanEtten; the motion carried.
