The Village of Mattawan adopted a two-year moratorium on data center development after a roll-call vote of 7-0, giving the village time to study zoning and impacts before new data-center proposals proceed.

The Village of Mattawan council voted unanimously on Aug. 24 to adopt a two-year moratorium on data centers in village jurisdictions. Attorney Graham presented the item on the agenda and Member Daniel moved to adopt the moratorium; the roll-call vote was 7-0 in favor.
