Board adds sidewalk/walkability language to Town Center variance resolution
During discussion of the Town Center variances, board members asked whether parking placement at the recreation center would undermine walkability; staff noted sidewalks around the building and added an explicit sentence to the resolution to preserve district walkability.

A board member raised concerns Sept. 14 about whether locating parking in front of the recreation center would reduce walkability to that building within the Town Center overlay. The Chair asked whether that configuration affected intended pedestrian access; staff replied that the applicant stated there are sidewalks around the building and suggested adding language to the resolution to preserve walkability. The staff member recorded the addition and said they would incorporate it into the final draft.
