Smith County commissioners flag multiple roads for immediate repairs
Commissioners identified a series of road and bridge maintenance needs — potholes on L Rd at Gaylord, holes on M Rd bridge approaches, washboards on S Rd, slick powder on 140 Rd — and asked Road Supervisor Travis Story for estimates and prioritized inspections.

Commissioner Kurt Ifland and Commissioner Jim Gwennap raised multiple specific road problems during the Sept. 23 meeting, asking Road & Bridge staff for follow‑up inspections and material deliveries. Problems cited included a near‑full‑width pothole on L Rd at the north edge of Gaylord, holes on both sides of the bridge on M Rd, sections of J Rd south of Hwy 9 where the rock has been reduced to dirt, and washboards on S Rd between Hwy 36 and 60 Rd.
