Van Alstyne ISD board approves budget amendment to cover multi-function overages
The Van Alstyne ISD Board of Trustees approved Budget Amendment 2026-08 on Aug. 31, reallocating remaining contingency funds from facilities to cover overages including $54,000 in general administration, $148,000 in maintenance and operations, and $75,061 in security and monitoring.

Board President Beau Williams called the special meeting of the Van Alstyne Independent School District Board of Trustees to order at 7:00 a.m. Monday. Renee Chote, speaking for district administration, presented a year-end budget reconciliation that recommended moving remaining contingency funds from Function 81 (Facilities Acquisition and Construction) to cover overages across several functions.
