The Lancaster County Board of Commissioners on Sept. 9 proclaimed September 2026 as Emergency Preparedness Month and praised the county Emergency Management Division for its work preparing the community for natural, technological and human-caused emergencies. The proclamation urges "all citizens of Lancaster County, PA" to plan for disasters and to contact local municipal emergency management coordinators for preparedness information.
