Board members reviewed draft language in Senate Bill 623 and warned it contains provisions that would extend local regulation into areas better handled at the state level and that parts of the draft ask for demographic or residency information of applicants. One member said the bill asks applicants where they went to school and how long they lived in the county, and called that "discriminatory" in effect.
