Trudy Saggs of the Southeast Idaho Council of Governments presented the final reimbursement request for the Lava Ranch fuels-reduction Phase 2 project funded by a Community Wildfire Defense Grant (CWDG). Saggs said the project treated 50 acres and described procurement and on-the-ground challenges — especially terrain that made some areas too steep for contractor work — that left the completed acreage below the original target.
