Commissioner raises water and emissions concerns for proposed data center

Commissioner Susan said she reviewed the PUD text closely and found aspirational language about efficiency but no measurable, enforceable limits on water use or emissions. She noted the PUD "prioritize[s] and pursues advanced water technologies that will dramatically reduce consumption," but added she "did not read any commitment regarding an amount of water that will be used." Susan warned that the county's aquifer is precipitation-fed and that she was "not confident that there's not going to be a negative impact on the aquifer" absent clearer data.
