The Gay Town Council voted on May 11, 2026 to decline an updated Interagency Governmental Agreement with Meriwether County Animal Services. Council member Estes moved that the Town "do not sign the agreement," a motion seconded by Council member Askvig; the council voted in favor of not signing the agreement.
