Bea Estango, managing librarian with Monterey County Free Libraries, announced a groundbreaking for the future East Garrison Library on Saturday, Sept. 19 at 10 a.m. The site is 13993 Sherman Boulevard in East Garrison, across from Lincoln Park. Estango said the event will include brief remarks from the library director, the architect, Supervisor Ruth Asquith Askew and Sheriff Nieto, followed by a community celebration with cake, outdoor activity kits and a community art project.
