David Hart, senior fellow for climate and energy at the Council on Foreign Relations, told the webinar that federal investment should increase for technologies that can provide continuous low‑carbon power. "We think clean firm, electricity generation deserves more support, from the federal government," he said, describing five technology groups (advanced fission, fusion, next‑generation geothermal, fossil with carbon capture and long‑duration storage).
