Designers for the Cal Anderson Memorial presented the 100% design and minor updates to the committees, highlighting a large granite focal boulder, a half-circle concrete viewing seat, embedded cobble for stormwater dissipation and low-level and uplighting for nighttime legibility. Aaron Loma of HBB Landscape Architecture said the team has focused stakeholder review on text sizing and orientation, mock-ups and accessibility to ensure the memorial honors Senator Cal Anderson’s legacy while fitting campus WAC constraints.
