IUSD board approves 2025–26 Continuous Improvement plan, revives Student Shadowing program

The board approved the 2025–26 Continuous Improvement Efforts, including the reinstated Student Shadowing 2.0 program aimed at improving student belonging. Superintendent Cassie Parham said summer programs "currently serve over 4,700 students," and the draft plan cites that 79% of students report teachers make an effort to connect.

The Irvine Unified School District Board approved the District’s 2025–26 Continuous Improvement Efforts following a presentation by Assistant Superintendent Stan Machesky. The draft plan emphasizes belonging as a foundational element of social‑emotional health and outlines districtwide, schoolwide and teacher goals. The board approved the plan by motion of Lauren Brooks, seconded by Cyril Yu.
