County hears expansion plans for aviation career programs and scholarship support for students
The board heard details of Lansing Community College and Eaton RESA aviation training programs that serve junior and senior high‑school students across Ingham, Eaton and Clinton counties; Williams said two $5,000 scholarships are available and that programs are capped at about 50 students.

At the July 29 meeting, airport CEO Nicole Nell Williams described local aviation workforce efforts, including the Eaton RESA Aviation Career Institute hosted at Lansing Airport for juniors and seniors from Ingham, Eaton and Clinton counties. Williams said the program is currently near a 50‑student cap and that Lansing Community College’s maintenance program is recognized nationally and needs more space and investment.
