Board proclaims May 2026 as Older Americans Month

Denise Swanson, deputy director of Health, Housing & Human Services, and Dan Hoshin, chair of the Aging Advisory Council, presented a proclamation recognizing May 2026 as Older Americans Month and outlined county aging statistics and services. Swanson noted Clackamas County is home to more than 425,000 residents and that individuals aged 65 and older made up 19% of the population in 2022; the county’s population aged 60 and older grew 55% between 2010 and 2022.
