Chief Resilience Officer Milagro told the committee the TreeBank currently holds $842,526 and that receipts spiked in 2021 before falling and leveling off: "We have $842,526 in the tree bank currently," she said. She traced the major structural change to legislation in 2022 that formalized the TreeBank mechanism and said receipts peaked at $387,000 in 2021 before dropping to $83,242 in 2024 (a decline of about 79% from the peak). Milagro described a strategy in the county’s resilience master plan to plant a minimum of 1,000 trees per year for the next 12 years and said staff will prioritize public properties such as libraries for this planting cycle.
