The Springfield Board of Selectmen voted Sept. 14 to accept a $1,255.50 donation from Karen MacMillan and Tamara Butcher to establish an expendable trust fund to support a banner program honoring veterans. The donation letter, signed by MacMillan and Butcher, specified use under NH RSA 31:19 to buy and install small exterior commemorative banners; the letter states that the fund "shall be used in accordance with NH RSA 31:19" and sets a 10-year termination date in 2036 unless renewed.
