A panel on emerging technology at the California Underground Safety Board’s education and outreach meeting said better maps and field-validated data are central to reducing damage to underground utilities. Moderator Jamie Hastings told attendees that "Emerging technology has created opportunities for us to strengthen how we manage coordination, identify risk, and promote safe digging practices," and asked panelists where technology is making the biggest difference.
